Medidata opens new London EMEA headquarters

The new hub will facilitate the company’s ‘continued expansion’

MedidataCloud-based technology and data analytics group Medidata has opened its new EMEA headquarters in London to facilitate the company’s expansion in the region.

Medidata serves a host of clients, including pharma, biotech and medtech companies such as AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis and Roche.

The group’s European presence consists of offices in Dusseldorf and Frankfurt, and it plans to expand into additional European life sciences hubs.

Tarek Sherif, chairman and CEO, Medidata, said: “We chose London as our EMEA headquarters over ten years ago due to the high concentration of innovative, international life sciences companies, a strong R&D presence and a talented, diverse workforce.

“This is an important investment for the company, demonstrating our increased commitment to the UK and the strategic important of the EMEA region.”

Hoping to attract “new talent”, Medidata aims to build upon its workforce - comprising of over 240 UK-based employees - over ‘the next few years’.

Sherif concluded: “I look forward to leveraging the opportunities provided by this expansion to meet the strong growth demand in the region and continue to attract and retain talented and skilled employees.”
