Merck KGaA appoints new head of corporate strategy

Isabel De Paoli will lead global corporate strategy at the German pharma company and Merck also has a new head of corporate auditing

Merck KGaA has promoted its current head of global strategic planning oncology Isabel De Paoli to lead the company's global corporate strategy.

Reporting to Karl-Ludwig Kley, chairman of the German pharmaceutical company's executive board, De Paoli starts her new role on January 1, 2012.

She originally joined Merck in 2006 as part of the chemical business development team and prior to that spent several years as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group.

The company has also announced another senior appointment, promoting Dr Friederike Rotsch to head of corporate auditing with immediate effect.

Rotsch joined the company in 2005 as a member of the legal department and his subsequent roles included head of corporate legal services.
