The charity Myeloma UK has teamed up with the online network group M3 to launch a new GP education programme via M3’s Doctors.net.uk website.

The one-month campaign, already halfway through, is being delivered via a Doctors.net.uk service called ClinTalk, which presents video and slide content to a clearly defined target audience.

Myeloma UK has used ClinTalk to deliver a video from Graham Jackson, professor of clinical haematology at the Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust, on recognising the signs and symptoms of myeloma.

Doctors viewing the video can be linked directly to the Myeloma Academy – an online learning initiative on the Myeloma UK website, which provides a one-stop resource to meet the evolving needs of healthcare professionals involved in the treatment and care of myeloma patients.

Doctors are also encouraged to download a myeloma diagnosis pathway PDF and to visit the Myeloma Academy and Myeloma UK website via the ClinTalk service.

“Doctors.net.uk has proved to be a great tool for delivering important information about suspecting and diagnosing myeloma to non-specialists. The ability to link from ClinTalk to the Myeloma Academy has helped us to further engage healthcare professionals,” said Myeloma UK chief executive Eric Low.

“Accessing the Myeloma Academy from ClinTalk provides them with educational resources that reflect the holistic needs of patients and relevant policy issues in an accessible format.”

Dr Tim Ringrose, CEO of M3 Europe, said: “We are delighted that Myeloma UK has chosen ClinTalk to engage with GPs. It is ideal for a campaign of this kind, enabling clients to deliver information quickly to an audience that can be broken down by specialty, geography or cross-matched against a target list.”
