Medea Communications, a medical communications agency, has launched to focus 'exclusively on clients'

Medea Communications, a medical communications agency, has launched to focus 'exclusively on clients'. The boutique agency has been set up Kate Hawker and Charlotte Florence, previously at The Remedy, and will operate as part of the well-established healthcare communications company InforMed Direct.

Kate, former founder and managing director of The Remedy, a medical education agency which went on to be acquired by Fleishman-Hillard, believes that Medea will occupy a unique space: "Isn't it what most clients dream of – an agency which can give them the hands-on high-level servicing of a boutique but with the bandwidth support of a major operation? As one senior industry player has already told us: 'It's all the good stuff and none of the bad!'"

Explaining the positioning of the new agency, Charlotte, former director at The Remedy and ex-GSK clinical scientist said, "We pride ourselves on really understanding the science and using this to set a gold standard to deliver successful commercialisation."

John Berry, chief executive of the InforMed Direct group of companies and former founder and chief executive of Complete Medical Communications commented on the launch, "Medea will offer everything that you would expect from a medical education agency and a few things that might surprise you. Working with InforMed enables Medea to offer lots of added value such as market research to benchmark programmes and radical new methodologies for gauging opinion leader thinking."

Medea will concentrate on innovative solutions for the pharmaceutical industry including a unique product offering to revolutionalise the way in which companies deliver their advisory board meetings. The agency is based in East Sheen, near Richmond upon Thames.
