Open Health launches digital healthcare venture

Joins forces with former man Carwyn Jones

UK-based communications agency Open Health has launched a new digital healthcare joint venture with Carwyn Jones.

Jones, who previously ran the pharmaceutical business of online physician community, will be managing director at Channel Health.

The new agency will focus on “digital channel initiatives” to assist pharmaceutical companies in their customer communications.

“Channel Health will be a unique digital business in the healthcare arena, and in partnership with Open Health, will be able to deliver a broad range of digital products and services. I am very excited about the possibilities that this new venture will bring,” Jones said.

At, Jones and his team were responsible for commercial activity within healthcare, developing engaging communication programmes of promotion, education and conference highlights to doctors.

Prior to joining the UK online physician community Jones worked at Eli Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Sudler & Hennessey in various roles across sales, marketing, and strategy.

Part of the Chime Communications group, Open Health was launched in 2011 as a discipline and channel neutral communications group.

It has since made a number of acquisitions in the sector. Last year it struck deals with UK advertising agency Lane Earl Cox (LEC) and PR firm Reynolds-Mackenzie, and this year it acquired Succinct Communications and NHS data company Harvey Walsh.
