All in your head

Nicorette has launched a £1.5m national press campaign which uses illustrations by famous cartoonist, Steven Appleby, to depict some of the excuses smokers think up to put off kicking the habit. The campaign aims at getting inside the heads of smokers with humorous cartoons that emphasise how difficult it can be to beat the cravings. It positions Nicorette as a nicotine replacement therapy that tackles the psychological, as well as the physical, battle involved in giving up smoking.

Can you handle it?

Staff at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Pfizer and Roche are readying themselves to do battle in the Cambrian Mountains of Wales for the fifth annual Microsoft UK Challenge to raise money for the NSPCC. They will go head-to-head with more than 120 teams from 68 UK companies, public sector and charity organisations to win the Microsoft UK Challenge trophy. Competitors will be kayaking, abseiling mountain biking and code-cracking during the four-day team building exercise. Organisers expect to beat the £420,000 raised last year at the event which takes place from June 8-11.

Resolute Communications has signed a preferred partner agreement with WeissComm Partners, a rapidly growing US agency focused solely on life sciences companies. The agencies plan to work together on global and multi-country communications programmes for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, device and diagnostic clients.

Putting pen to paper
