Red Door Communications hires senior Pfizer communicator

Andrew Thomas joins the communications agency as heal of international

Andrew Thomas, Red Door Communications

Andrew Thomas has been appointed head of international at London-based healthcare communications agency Red Door Communications, which is part of Creston Health Group.

Thomas joins the agency from Pfizer, where he was the strategic communications lead for primary care medicines across Europe and Canada.

During this time, he handled a portfolio that included many of the company’s highest profile medicines and led campaigns that were later recognised and celebrated at PMEA and Communiqué Awards.

“My time at Pfizer,” Thomas said, “required me to work across complex organisational structures and to understand what works, what doesn’t and, most importantly, why that was the case.

“Success in that role was ultimately predicated on an ability to build, maintain and cultivate effective relationships based on trust and shared ownership with internal and external stakeholders alike.

“I believe those skills mean I will be able to make a real contribution to the Red Door Communications team and help develop their existing international offering still further”.

Over the course of 12 years, Thomas has delivered communications and media relations programmes at domestic, pan-European and global levels, both within agency and in-house.

Commenting on the appointment, Catherine Warne, head of Creston Health Group, said: “I have known Andrew for many years as a competitor and then a client. He is great fun, hugely well liked and respected in our industry and a proven influencer at a senior level.

“We are very excited that he is joining us and believe he is the ideal person to drive our international business.”
