The Communiqué Awards 2018 - the countdown has begun

New categories recognise excellence in Integrated Non-Promotional Communications, and Communication Through Creative Execution.

The biggest night in healthcare communications is almost upon us, with the Communiqué Awards being held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel this evening.

The awards celebrate the very best in healthcare communications, and recognise the diligence and creativity of pharmaceutical companies and their agencies in producing communications campaigns across a wide range of communications disciplines and therapy areas.

The many award categories include Excellence in Communication via Meetings, Excellence in Public Health Communications, Media Relations and Digital Channels.

This year has seen the introduction of two new categories, Excellence in Integrated Non-Promotional Communications, and Excellence in Communication Through Creative Execution.

Some of the most highly coveted awards are presented towards the end of the evening, including the Pegasus Award for In-House Team of the Year and Communiqué Communications Consultancy of the Year.

Chair of Judges Anna Korving (pictured) says the awards help to uphold the reputation of the healthcare communications industry, demonstrating how it works to educate healthcare professionals, generate much-needed conversations about healthcare, and ultimately contribute to improving patient outcomes.

"Tonight is a rare opportunity to celebrate that work, to be proud of our achievements, as individuals, as teams and businesses, and as an industry. It's an evening to stand tall, to reflect on what we do well and to celebrate excellence."

The black-tie event kicks off from 7pm for ticket holders and 6pm for VIP ticket holders, where those guests can enjoy a reception located in the Rink Bar.

While the presenters of the night will remain top secret, past hosts have seen the likes of Jason Manford, James Corden and Katherine Ryan take the stage, so the night won’t disappoint.

The event coincides with a big night for the England team as well, which might otherwise have preoccupied many attendees. Those who've been hooked to the World Cup needn't fear, however, the England vs. Belgium game will be shown on big screens before the awards get under way.

A full list of winners will be available immediately after the awards are announced on the website. If you can’t make the evening make sure to follow @CxHealth on Twitter for live coverage.
