The EarthWorks was crowned Support Agency of the Year at last night’s 2017 PMEA Awards in London.

The Marlow, UK-based agency edged out competition from Complete Medical Communications and Makara Health to take the title.

Commenting on the award the PMEA judges said: “The EarthWorks have done so much for such a young company, they delivers high-quality, cutting edge projects for their clients.

“They have demonstrated good people investment and are the sort of agency that I would hope to see these awards encourage in the future.”

During 2016 The EarthWorks delivered a number of ground-breaking and successful patient programmes that are all global in scope and co-created with patients and world-leading clinical and academic expertise.

The patient engagement consultancy, research and insight and health technology company’s global firsts during this time included the first mobile health solution in rare disease in clinical pilot to demonstrate it improves quality of life for patients.

PMEA 2017 also saw The EarthWorks highly commended for its work on MyAsthma for GlaxoSmithKline. The MyAsthma iPhone app is GSK’s first Class 1 medical device that allows patients to track their attacks, medication use and store their peak flow or spirometry readings and share that data with their healthcare professional.

Run by PMLiVE’s publisher the PMGroup, PMEA exists to reward responsible customer-centric business practices that ensure treatments and advice provide patients with meaningful outcomes.

The programme has been specifically designed to recognise and commend excellence, best practice and innovation in local, European and international markets.
