UCB launches UK product helpline for patients and HCPs

UCBCares will answer treatment queries and use feedback to drive innovation

UCB

UBC has launched a new seven-day helpline for healthcare professionals and patients in the UK and Ireland who have questions about its products.

The service, called UCBCares, looks to close gaps between drug development and patient outcomes, working with the NHS and patients to develop innovative treatments that deliver the best care.

It will be run by scientists from its UK & Ireland headquarters and global immunology research centre in Slough, Berkshire who will answer queries and take feedback to drive ‘patient-centric innovation’.

Steve Turley, managing director for UCB British and Irish Isles, said: “UBCCares is an important service for making sure that those taking or prescribing our treatments get the most out of them.

“Greater patient involvement in their own care has grown but this has been coupled with increased pressure on the NHS and so there is a natural role for industry to better support patients.

“UCBCares is just one way we are opening our doors so that we can achieve better outcomes for patients and design innovative new medicines for the patients of tomorrow.”

The launch of the UK service follows successful debuts of equivalent helplines in Germany and the US.
