PAN trio run for charity

Three of PAN’s senior team ran the BUPA London 10k on the 27th May, as part of Team Finlay, a group of 20 runners co-ordinated by 10-year-old Finlay MacLeod.
Finlay, who is the son of one of PAN’s long-standing clients, Steve McNicol, wanted to raise money for RP Fighting Blindness, having been diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) last year.
Finlay hoped to run the 10k himself, but unfortunately was unable to, due to a minimum age restriction of 16.
Undeterred by this, Finlay pulled together a team to run on his behalf which included not only his dad, family and friends but also, Julia Straker, Director of Strategic Brand Planning, Mags Wall Senior Account Director and Natalie Enniks Senior Account Manager from PAN.

RP Fighting Blindness
is funding pioneering gene therapy research at Moorfields Eye Hospital which represents one of the best opportunities for a breakthrough in treatment of RP.
RP is an inherited disease of the eye, where the light sensitive cells of the retina cease to function and die away. Currently, RP is a progressive and incurable disease that leads to loss of vision and blindness. However, the research being undertaken at Moorfields Eye Hospital hopes to slow or even reverse this disease by injecting cells from healthy retinas into the eyes of RP patients.

Team Finlay has so far raised an impressive £42,956.10 and it’s still rising! Please join us is raising money for this amazing cause by visiting http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/Finlay_Fighting_Blindness
“We should be able to make a really significant contribution to the gene therapy research. I am so excited that we have managed to raise so much!”
