Lucid Group continues their expansion into the north west of England with new premises
Macclesfield has long been a regarded as a key hub for scientific research, development and manufacturing in the UK. In fact, AstraZeneca’s Macclesfield site is the largest pharmaceutical production facility in the UK.
Therefore, an expansion of Lucid’s operation into the north west with a move to larger offices is excellent news for the local community, elevating the importance of medical communications and bringing some diversity to the scientific community and workforce in the north west.
Lucid Group is a proven medical communications success story. From a two-person start-up, to a 150-strong global workforce with a plethora of awards under their belt, over the last eleven years, Lucid Group has become a leader in its field.
Lucid currently holds the titles of Communiqué Medical Education Consultancy of the Year 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2018, as well as Communiqué Consultancy of the Year 2018. They were also crowned with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in 2017, a landmark achievement which they celebrated only ten years after being founded by Jan Steele (COO) and Dennis O’Brien (CEO) – proof of a successful business model.
The new office in, the centre of Macclesfield, is currently home to just six employees but the extra space means they can now mine the rich vein of scientific talent in the north west. Furthermore, as Lucid is a great advocate of agile working, these offices afford great agility and flexibility for their teams.
Angela Young, Lucid HR Director commented, “Even after eleven years, Lucid continues to enjoy exponential growth year on year. Our commitment to providing our clients with the best talent, and our employees with the best work-life balance, has made our expansion in the north west an obvious move. We want to put the spotlight on medical communications in the region as a viable and attractive proposition to those with a curiosity for science and passion for making a difference to patients’ lives”.
