Since 2010 we've championed a new and modern way to reach Healthcare Professionals, pioneering the Multi-Channel Account Management sales model.

Over the last few years the NHS has continued to evolve and, whilst educating the industry that they need to embrace change, OUTiCO have learnt some valuable insights along the way.

"There is a hypothesis that in 10 – 15 years the NHS, and the people within it, will not need to see sales professionals face-to-face. This is not to declare the end of pharmaceutical or healthcare selling, however, it’s more of a wake-up call for all organisations who have not observed the environmental changes, and do not have a digital strategy for their organisation.

We believe there will always be a place for sales professionals in the NHS, but how we operate, and the skills and processes we use to communicate, will radically change. The future of the customer experience is in a process of transformation. Digital advances have given companies the power to streamline processes and improve the customer journey. The 4th industrial revolution represents a fundamental change in the way we live and work. It’s a new chapter for sales and marketing, and there will be an increasing need for AI, or machine learning, ‘non-human’ promotional and educational communication with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs). Looking at B2B industries as a whole, outside of pharma/healthcare, research suggests that AI is going to be critical for commercial success.

“82% of B2B enterprises will use AI to make better business decisions in the next three years.”

So, this is not something we have to get on the agenda in 2, or 3 years, the evolution is happening now. We already have a wide spectrum of clients who talk about the future and believe NHS face-to-face selling is ‘all but dead’ already..."
