There are over 100,000 people currently living with HIV in the UK. Effective treatment now means that people diagnosed with HIV can expect a normal and healthy life, and cannot pass on the virus. However around 7,500 people living with HIV remain undiagnosed. Getting people tested and onto treatment is vital to help reach the goal of zero new HIV transmissions by 2030.

Executive Director of Communications at Terrence Higgins Trust, Dominic Edwardes, said: ’11 London’s experience with health and public awareness campaigns is exactly what we need in order to communicate the fact that our work with HIV is far from done – it’s just moved into a different era with challenges that can affect us all.’

Matt Hunt, MD of 11 London, said: ‘This is precisely what we do – raising awareness of health issues that need to be addressed, as well as signposting the support available. Getting people to understand and act on health problems requires clarity and collaboration, something that comes naturally to Terrence Higgins Trust’.

The campaign will be developed in partnership with the National AIDS Trust, who with Terrence Higgins Trust have established an independent HIV Commission that will look at how to reach zero new transmissions in England by 2030, which the UK Government has pledged to achieve. Alongside the awareness campaign there will be a major fundraising appeal.

Terrence Higgins Trust is the UK’s leading HIV and sexual health charity. It supports people living with HIV to lead healthy lives, works to amplify the voices of those living with HIV across public and political arenas, and enables people to enjoy good sexual health.

11 London work with both commercial and non-profit organisations that improve or prolong life. Clients include Novo Nordisk, Teva, the World Health Organization, Breast Cancer Now and the UK Sepsis Trust – as well as RSPCA and the Campaign to Protect Rural England.
