IBD Registry appoints first CEO

April 13, 2018 |

The IBD Registry Board is delighted to announce the appointment of Liz Dobson as the first Chief Executive Officer of IBD Registry Ltd from 16th April 2018.

The IBD Registry is familiar to many as the first UK-wide collection of anonymised adult and paediatric IBD data for prospective audit and research. The British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG), The Royal College of Physicians (RCP), and Crohn’s and Colitis UK joined forces at the end in 2017 to launch IBD Registry Ltd – an independent not-for-profit company and a new legal entity that positions the Registry for future growth. Liz will be the first Chief Executive of the new organisation.

Liz brings to the IBD Registry 20 years of executive and senior management experience from the private and not-for-profit sector, including early stage businesses. She brings both the leadership and business skills that the IBD Registry needs as a new non-profit company, combined with a robust background in operations, and technical understanding that will be of huge benefit to the Registry as it embarks on this next stage of its growth.  Liz’s experience is underpinned by a Sloan Fellow MSc (Business) from London Business School, and BSc (Maths) first class honours.

She commented: “I’m delighted to be appointed as the Registry’s first CEO at this exciting and crucial stage of its development. My aim is to help the team to build on their considerable success to date for the benefit of all our stakeholders. I’m especially keen to develop enhanced ways of supporting clinical teams to gather and harness data that can be used effectively to develop better services and deliver better outcomes for IBD patients. I look forward to working with you all to realise the very bright future I believe we can create together for the Registry.”

Amanda Quincey, current Chair* of the IBD Registry Board commented, “the Board are delighted to welcome Liz Dobson to the team. She joins us with excellent experience and shares our ambitions for an exciting future for the Registry.  We have recently faced some challenging times as we have been transitioning into our new form, and we thank all our stakeholders, especially clinical teams, for their continued support and patience during that period.”

IBD Registry Ltd is an independent not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, set up by the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG), The Royal College of Physicians (RCP), and Crohn’s and Colitis UK in order to position the Registry for future growth.
