Random42 Scientific Communication are Exhibiting at WIRED Health 2017

Random42 Scientific Communication are extremely excited to announce that they will be exhibiting at Wired Health 2017 on the 9th of March!

The annual healthcare conference brings together the leading technologists, entrepreneurs and innovators currently shaping the health industry. This year’s event will showcase the most exciting innovations in healthcare, with a focus on challenging the health industry to transform.

The Random42 team will be exhibiting their innovative technologies in Medical Animation, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality.

The use of Virtual Reality (VR) has enabled scientific storytelling to be elevated to a whole new level. It is now possible to take people into 3D film sets and take them on a ride inside the human body (pictured above). Users feel like they are actually in the scene watching red blood cells float alongside them or following a signalling pathway into the nucleus. Random42 will be presenting this storytelling format, which, combined with state-of-the-art technology, gives the user a detailed understanding of specific biological processes. The rich stimulating imagery promotes deeper engagement and helps to reinforce the scientific message.

Augmented Reality (AR) involves your real world environment being supplemented with interactive digital overlays, in real-time. Random42’s AR apps use visual recognition technology, where users simply point their smart device at a tracker which then activates an interactive experience such as animations, holograms, 3D models and games. At Wired Health 2017 AR technology, originally developed for
Wyss Centre will be showcased, involving bionic mannequins that reveal hidden neurotech (pictured above). The user is able to uncover a projection of implantable technologies with clickable labels to provide more in-depth information.

Mixed Reality (MR) is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualisations where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. With Microsoft Hololens, your physical and virtual worlds merge together in a mixed reality. Hololens allows you to naturally move, interact, and explore three dimensional virtual holograms around you. Random42's scientific knowledge and experience, combined with this new state-of-the-art technology is able to give life to unique interactive applications. These customised holographic demos showcase how new experiences can be created in the world of medical animation.

Random42 Scientific Communication Showreel 2015
This showreel is a selection of our best medical animation work that has been produced over the last few years. With 3D medical animation we can fly around a virtual human body. As viewers, we can travel with red blood cells along arteries to explore cardiovascular concerns, or down the airways and into the lungs to illustrate respiratory issues. We can observe the functioning synapses of the brain or watch cells divide. When a drug enters the scene, we can see for ourselves how it interacts with the complex mechanisms of the human body.
