Nagore Fernandez announced as Head of Clinical Services – Europe
With Clinical services across a number of European countries (including the EU5, Turkey and Portugal) and plans for further expansion, Ashfield is delighted to announce the appointment of Nagore Fernandez as Head of Clinical Services - Europe.
Ashfield
Clinical is a leading provider of innovative, flexible and scalable Patient
Support Programmes, with over 15 years’ experience in designing and delivering
a wide range of programmes. Clinical services include patient adherence,
multichannel engagement, educational content and tailored care plans. Ashfield Clinical
supports pharmaceutical and healthcare companies across a large number of
therapy areas, including rare conditions.
Nagore is a
Clinical Pharmacist and holds a Masters in Clinical Research. After
joining Boots UK in a Quality and Compliance role, Nagore moved into senior
management roles within Walgreens Boots Alliance where she led the development
of strategy and the execution of clinical operations. Nagore was responsible
for the development of clinical and patient support services in countries
including the EU5 and Turkey.
Nagore, who will be responsible
for developing the Clinical services strategy and overseeing its
implementation, commented: “I’m thrilled to join Ashfield and be driving
forward this area of the business. I’m passionate about the opportunity which Clinical
services provide to help our clients improve adherence and behaviours towards
treatment, achieve better outcomes and ultimately better serve their patients.” Talking about how her experience
in the sector will help shape this role, Nagore said: “As a pharmacist and throughout my career in
clinical operations, my aim has been to get closer to patients, closing the gap
between them and Health Care Professionals (HCPs). The key to this has been
understanding the needs of all stakeholders, with a particular focus on the patient
who is ultimately using the client’s product to treat their condition. My
experience in patient and HCP engagement will help drive the development of
this area.” Discussing the future of Ashfield
Clinical services, Nagore explained: "This
is a really dynamic and fast-growing area because of the benefits to all
stakeholders. With Patient Support Programmes we will continue to innovate so
that every aspect of care plans are tailored to individual patient needs. In
today’s world this requires the right technology to both deliver multichannel
engagement and to collect and respond to real world data. These advances bring
new challenges for quality and compliance. Managing local compliance and global
reporting requirements will be key for the increasing number of multi-country
clinical programmes we foresee.” “This is an exciting time for Nagore to join
Ashfield” said Nigel Mansford, Head of Europe and Canada for Ashfield Clinical
and Commercial businesses. “Nagore will provide expert and dedicated leadership
to accelerate the development of our Clinical service capability, expand our
number of markets and ensure continued quality of the highest standard.”
