Sweet 16: Star celebrates an important milestone

This September Star celebrate their 16th birthday and are looking back over an exciting and successful year so far.

Turning 16 marks an important chapter for anyone, and for Star it’s no different. The first half of 2018 saw the appointment of a new Managing Director, some new faces in the leadership team, and a fresh rebrand to complement Star’s unrivalled offering to the healthcare industry.

Head of Business Development, Ryan Wooller, said: “It’s great to celebrate 16 years of delivering impact for our clients! Star is an exciting place to be at the moment as we continue to develop our services and approach”.

Since 2002 Star have been reaching that little bit further to help clients make a commercial impact, both through their outsourcing options and through their established resourcing team, ensuring talented professionals are placed in perfect roles. There’s no secret recipe, just a clear focus on developing and delivering bespoke solutions, managed in the best possible way.

The passion that helped establish Star 16 years ago still remains and is reflected in their continued awards and accreditations from various organisations, including Best Companies and Great Place to Work. Most recently Star retained their Gold standard Investors In People accreditation and were recognised by Best Workplaces for Women.

HR Manager, Kate Hosker, said: “We are very lucky at Star that over the past 16 years we have grown rapidly and developed into new markets, but we have always stayed true to our values. Unity, Fire and Winning underpin not only who we are but how we do things, and holding true to these have been critical to our ongoing success.

“We are very excited about the future - we have the best people who are both engaged and invested in Star, and that sets us up perfectly for continued success.”

Star’s ‘Listen, Tailor, Deliver’ methodology has been strengthened by additional service offerings resulting from the 2015 acquisition by Uniphar PLC, including access to cutting-edge data, analytics and multi-channel capability, which means clients receive a detailed, quality service.

Managing Director, Dave Faulkner, said: “I’ve spent time over the last few days with both Tim and Lucy - the founders of Star - and the values and spirit they instilled within the business remain in our DNA as we mark our 16th birthday.

“We continue to grow and develop a pace with now over 350 employees in the Star family across the UK, Ireland, and into Europe. It’s a privilege for me and the leadership team to continue to take our Star business forward.”

Star would like to say a huge thank you to all of their clients for their invaluable relationships, to all past and current employees, and to their fantastic candidates who trust them to find perfect roles they’ll be happy in. Here’s to the next 16 years!
