emotive proud to sponsor the Gamification category at the PM Digital Awards 2016

As strong believers in using gaming principles to improve medical education and patient engagement, emotive are delighted to announce their sponsorship of the Gamification category at this year’s PM Digital Awards.

Taking place in London on 27 April 2016, the PM Digital Awards celebrates the innovation, quality and results achieved in digital communications within the healthcare industry. Now in its seventh year, the event highlights the best tools, programmes and campaigns delivered across a broad range of digital activities. As strong believers in using gaming principles to improve medical education and patient engagement, emotive are delighted to announce their sponsorship of the Gamification category.

Winner of PM Digital awards and commendations every year since 2010, emotive once again are finalists. Virtual Valve, which alone is shortlisted for awards in three categories, is a fully immersive virtual reality experience that, for the first time, allows cardiologists to explore the inside of patients’ beating hearts. The other shortlisted project is a comprehensive commissioning “toolkit” that, for the first time, helps commissioners and payors to visualise both a treatment’s personalised cost-effectiveness and its real-world impact on patient outcomes.

Andy Hastie, emotive’s Experience Director, commented on the sponsorship and the utility of gamification techniques in digital healthcare communications:

“emotive strongly believe in applying game dynamics in relevant areas of medical education, disease awareness and patient engagement. Gaming principles have been shown to improve the overall user experience and lead to better outcomes. By sponsoring the category, we hope to encourage broader use in our industry, and are exploring ways of further adapting and utilising gaming principles to improve the user experience.
