The
ABPI is the voice of the innovative pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical
industry, working with Government, regulators and other stakeholders to promote
a receptive environment for a strong and progressive industry in the UK.
Over
the past year the ABPI has undertaken a fundamental review of all aspects of
how it can best serve the industry and UK healthcare environment. As a result, a new ABPI organisation, with
new ways of working, and a new strategic plan has been implemented which
represents a call to action for ABPI member companies to get involved and
effect major change in the UK healthcare environment.
As
part of this change an important new role has been created for a Membership
Engagement Account Director.
Opportunity profile
As Membership Engagement
Account Director you will ensure that the voice of the emerging, small to mid-size
pharmaceutical companies is strongly represented and that these member
organisations gain real value from their ABPI membership.
This will include leading initiatives to develop high-level
engagement with existing and new ABPI members, building new membership among small
to mid-size organisations, increasing their representation within relevant
industry groups and forums, and managing programmes that advance the issues
that are important to these member organisations.
As well as developing a broad network among UK industry
leaders, Government and other national stakeholders, this important industry
appointment offers a high profile opportunity to be the voice of small and
mid-size organisations within the ABPI and the pharmaceutical Industry.
This is a broad-based role that will
draw upon strategic thinking and operational capabilities as well as your
industry insight, networking and leadership skills.
The following broad range of experience, skills and competencies are required -
- Demonstrates energy and passion for
the success of medium and small pharmaceutical companies.
- UK pharmaceutical or
biopharmaceutical company experience, some of which should have been gained in
a small to mid-size environment.
- This should include experience in a
commercial leadership role, such as Marketing/Commercial Director or Business
Unit Director.
- Some additional experience in a
commercial services/consultancy environment would be ideal, but is not a
prerequisite.
- Broad capabilities, able to
contribute to strategic and operational decision-making.
- Strong communication skills, good
networking abilities, which is likely to be demonstrated by an existing broad
network and/or industry engagement profile.
- Flexible interpersonal style and
ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders, colleagues and
members.
