Summary of work

Sophie Mansfield had her first taste of mass media following the publication of her MSc dissertation in the British Journal of Psychology which achieved major national media coverage. Following this, Sophie has continued to demonstrate her passion and dedication to behaviour change and healthcare communications throughout her career. With award-winning creative campaigns and lobbying for Parliamentary change just some of the public sector work under her belt, Sophie now uses her experience to support a local charity which she recently joined as a trustee.

Sophie’s utter commitment to healthcare communications has left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike, from playing a pivotal role in the launch of 3 Monkeys’ healthcare division, to recently delivering a global communications strategy for Novartis Pharma AG that supported the third most successful product launch of 2015 (measured by sales).

Sophie has a ceaseless passion for changing lives, and has continually shown herself to be more than just a communications professional. To date, Sophie has worked with young offenders, sexual abuse survivors, terminally ill children and people living with chronic illnesses to use her understanding of communications and behavioural change to make a real difference to people’s lives.

Judges’ comments

Sophie was an excellent candidate for this award in so many ways and through her presentation she demonstrated that she is also an extremely impressive and personable individual. What also shone through for the judges was how much she genuinely cares about her work, vulnerable patient groups and the industry in general. We predict she’ll go far.
