Summary of work

Driven by our Breakthrough mission to play an active role in evolving and improving healthcare, we want to tackle issues for patients and our industry and solve the problems of the future. In 2020 our success came from three things: our teams’ agility and unwavering support for one another; our focus on our strategy despite all the changes; our delivery for clients and their trust in us. We delivered projects making a difference for patients in the UK and internationally, and cut through for clients with communications and policy programmes at the forefront of the defining topics in healthcare, including COVID. We strengthened our team, bringing in new members and refocusing our culture and ways of working, and our client standards and expectations.
We hit our 20% revenue target growing sustainably and profitably, focused on staff wellbeing, and set ourselves stretchy targets on diversity. We’ve relished the spotlight that has been thrown on the healthcare industry and used the opportunity to jump in headfirst, shaping the future we want to see for patients and our industry.

To date, the program has successfully generated and leveraged data through newly established channels and partnerships with engaged stakeholders. The program has already successfully influenced clinical practice and policy at global, country and clinic levels via novel insights and targeted, patient-focused solutions. Adherence is gaining the attention it has long needed, and real-world outcomes will improve as a result.

Judges’ comments

We saw strong ambition and high-level vision from Hanover with a clear articulation of strategy and tactics for delivery. Their approach with “breakthrough finance” was interesting and performance was strong and polished with a great set of results. It was clear that they are a very grown up and professionally run business.
