Rob is a strategic health communications leader with expertise across not-for-profit, public sector and industry. His early career was spent working on projects that won several awards: sensitive use of a survey of those living with HIV (for GSK) won ‘Best Use of a Survey’, Communiqué 2007; a social marketing campaign for Chelsea and Westminster Trust was awarded ‘Best Patient or Public Campaign, Communiqué 2005 for increasing hepatitis protection.
As Director at the Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF), Rob has developed campaigns to benefit patients in the UK and globally. His insight-driven strategy enabled the team to win 2018 Third Sector Communications Campaign of the Year and increased meningitis vaccination rates among students. He also helped develop partnerships that changed the organisation from a small UK-based charity to a leading global health organisation in the fight against meningitis.
In his spare time he has been editor for NAM, who works to change the lives of people lining with HIV, and creates content for an award-winning NHS website proven to change health behaviours for the better.
As Chair of the STEM PR Association and a mentor, Rob also shares best practice and develops the next generation of health and science communicators.
Rob impressed with the fact that he is now leading his charity’s input into Global Roadmap with WHO. Rob has really demonstrated a commitment to talent development and to supporting others within the industry. He also submitted a very impressive Thought Leader piece.
