Despite being preventable and curable, tuberculosis (TB) is the world’s deadliest infectious disease. 2018 was a major year for the TB community. The first-ever UN High Level Meeting on TB galvanised unprecedented attention – but it was critical to remind global health leaders that their promises and commitments from 2018 must not be forgotten.
We supported a six-way partnership between our client Stop TB Partnership, PATH, Global Fund, Johnson & Johnson, Fullerton Health Foundation and World Economic Forum to create the 2nd annual TB Innovation Summit in New York City in just under eight weeks. We put the patient story at the forefront offering a VR experience showcasing a day in the life of a TB survivor, created a bespoke event programme featuring pitch sessions, fireside chats and frank discussion about innovation with change-makers from financing, research and development, access to medicines and delivery and created inspirational branding and content. We captured the global health community’s attention on the eve of the UN General Assembly and catapulted TB to the top of the agenda for world leaders with the power to make urgent change, together.
The TB Innovation Summit was a powerful and very well-received event. They had strong speakers, a highly creative theme and made use of innovative technology. What was achieved in a very short amount of time was very impressive.
