ENGINE MHP

Summary of work

Growing up around the NHS and studying politics at university, healthcare communications was a natural fit for me. I relish understanding why health systems work the way they do, and what can be done to fix them. Whether analysing large data sets on patient pathway gaps, developing new standards to improve patient outcomes, or communicating those ideas to experts and advocates – many would view my work as rooted in policy and public affairs. This view would be wrong. My career to date has been defined by a willingness to rapidly learn and adapt to the wide range of skills and disciplines which coexist within the healthcare communications sector. While policy is at the heart of my experience and knowledge, I consider myself a generalist able to recognise and apply a range of approaches to increasingly mixed and converging challenges. As a leader on the Junior Board of the ENGINE Group – MHP’s parent company – I am at the heart of a project to redefine one of the UK’s largest marketing services companies. In this role I have gained unique insight into operational decision-making – enabling me to grow as a leader both within MHP’s health team, in the counsel I give to my clients.
