# Kite Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) Virtual Preceptorship
Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR T-cell) therapy is a highly specialised and innovative new intervention for patients with DLBCL. The CAR T-cell treatment pathway is complex and poorly understood by community oncologists, with a widespread lack of foundational knowledge acting as a significant barrier to the uptake of treatment. Complicated market specificities within the referral and treatment pathways further inhibit referring physicians’ levels of confidence.
The traditional face-to-face educational preceptorship format lacks the widespread reach necessary to adequately educate haemato-oncologists. The Kite DLBCL Virtual Preceptorship is a pioneering digital learning experience that redefines the clinical preceptorship format, immersing our audience in the various stages of the treatment process, from the consultation room to the Qualified Treatment Centre (QTC), from the cell therapy laboratory to the manufacturing plant, from diagnosis to treatment.
The Kite DLBCL Virtual Preceptorship is a Global initiative, designed to deliver against specific educational gaps within the oncology community, setting a new precedent for expert-led education. The bespoke technology stack is designed to support rapid localisation, with a dynamic suite of globally approved and locally relevant materials available for translation and adaptation.
We saw clear situation analysis describing the need and indicating the disruption required and thought this was an excellent example of identifying an opportunity and providing a valuable offering. The idea of a virtual preceptorship had lots of promise and the KITE campaign is a great looking tool. There was good situational analysis on which to base the project and the Twitter launch was an interesting use of the tech to generate interest and enthusiasm. A great project.
