Maggie Gordon

GCI Health

Summary of work

Described as ‘a trailblazer’ and ‘one to watch’ by her main client Vertex, Maggie has come a long way since she cold called the MD at GCI Health, not knowing what an MD actually was! Arriving from the US with two-and-a-half years of experience in consumer health PR, Maggie knew she had a lot to learn. But she was a good listener, a quick learner and ambitious. Allocated to the Vertex account, she spent as much time with her client as possible in order to truly understand the business need and share her insights about their challenges and ambitions with her team. She soon rose to become the main account lead and key client contact, supervising and mentoring a team of six responsible for the delivery of five core workstreams. Her successes for Vertex have included product launches, International-wide meetings, programmes, internal comms and parliamentary affairs. The relationship with her client is so strong that she is currently splitting her time between GCI and Vertex ahead of a ten-month secondment as a Senior Communications Manager.

To date, the program has successfully generated and leveraged data through newly established channels and partnerships with engaged stakeholders. The program has already successfully influenced clinical practice and policy at global, country and clinic levels via novel insights and targeted, patient-focused solutions. Adherence is gaining the attention it has long needed, and real-world outcomes will improve as a result.
