In a time of devastating loss – of lives and of livelihoods – we’ve been comforted by a truth at the heart of our business philosophy. That people and our connections with each other matter. GCI Health is a specialist healthcare communications agency Inspired by People. The pandemic made us think harder and deeper about what this mantra means. Whilst our vision didn’t waver, a sharper focus on people and connectivity is the positive we take forwards on our journey of growth and transformation.
In 2020 we grew our business by 14%, a third of which was organic. By end H1 2021, we’re on track to end the year at 15% - our seventh consecutive year of double-digit growth - far surpassing targets. This trajectory, alongside the challenge of virtual working, demanded an agile, people-first strategy to attract and retain the best. Unashamedly we prioritised our people, knowing our clients would reap the rewards. Since January 2020, 30 new faces have joined us, and 85% have stayed with us.
Our Global vision is to be the best healthcare agency in the world. That world post-COVID may look a little different, but our mantra doesn’t. In fact, we have even more reason to believe.

Judges’ comments

The judges liked GCI’s strong business focus on happy and fulfilled teams, along with their clear overall objectives. They showed that they are driving change on the issues that matter and have a good balance across multiple dimensions. GCI showed it had successful performance, good client satisfaction and a supportive, flexible approach to people management.
