A Fresh Approach to Data Training for MSLs

Summary of work

To support the launch of a new product, a team of TPE medical science liaisons (MSLs) underwent conventional training on the product data and supporting evidence, followed by further standard training interventions. In-field observation and ongoing testing indicated that the team were not as confident with the company and competitor data as expected.

TPE partnered with AI&P and FK to take a novel approach to data training for the cross-country MSL team. A one-day programme was developed that took a fresh and immersive approach to the delegates’ training experience. Delegate feedback analysis following the workshop delivery clearly demonstrated that the new learning approach embedded scientific data at a deeper level, and that participants felt more confident and better prepared for calls with HCPs.

Judges' comments

This training programme for MSLs is creative and innovative in its approach to training, such as an escape room, theatre, speed dating. It has clear metrics, set from the beginning which are measured and well researched. The judges really liked the immersive experiential learning.
