In 2018/19 Makara Health demonstrated success utilising its agile working model and two-tier management structure. Senior practitioners (Account Director and above) work alongside clients providing a high-level service supported by strong office-based support.
Clients value senior talent and our model provides this. Agility is built into Makara’s DNA – full-time, part-time, remote, in-office and hub working are all possibilities, giving us access to outstanding practitioners. All our clients get to work with senior teams of motivated self-starters providing a strategic dimension to tactical delivery.
Aiming for an ambitious 20% growth in turnover and £850,000 gross profit in 2018/19, we exceeded this with an impressive 45.5% turnover increase resulting in £1,202,000 gross profit.
This was achieved through organic growth, repeat business (80%), referrals and a consistent new business strategy favouring targeted meetings over costly pitches.
We enlarged our client base from 15 to 22 companies, delivering across multiple brands within them, and team headcount increased from 16 to 24.
We continue to challenge ourselves by asking ‘What if’, not only in relation to client work but when planning the company’s future to ensure we are true to our original goal: to be an inspiring company to work with and within.
Makara Health has a very clear articulated vision and strategy with a distinct proposition in the market. Their client satisfaction is evident, with good results from campaigns. They have impressive financial results.
