Judging criteria

Executive Summary – 200 words (not scored)

  • If you are nominated for an award, PMGroup may publish extracts from this summary, so ensure that it contains no confidential or sensitive information. No other part of your entry will be reproduced and the main content of your entry will remain confidential at all times.

Clarity of situation analysis and opportunity identification (10) – 300 words

  • Demonstrate how you gained in-depth understanding of an unmet need and the potential to create value beyond the product in line with stakeholder needs

Clarity and appropriateness of SMART objectives (10) – 250 words

  • Demonstrate how your objectives related to all stakeholders and reinforced each other

Quality of strategy development based on insights (15) – 330 words

  • Demonstrate what specific insights led to your choice of the particular strategy
  • Describe what you defined as the critical success factors for this initiative
  • Evidence of resource allocation decisions designed to create value

Quality of execution (10) – 350 words

  • Evidence as to how methods and tactics were based on the strategy
  • Describe the key barriers that had to be overcome and how this was achieved
  • Evidence of organisational changes made to support strategy execution
  • Evidence of working with other stakeholders to support strategy execution and identify new opportunities

Quality of measurement and learning (10) – 300 words

  • Demonstrate how metrics have been applied to measure outcomes
  • Evidence of knowledge gained that will inform and shape future decision-making

Evidence of value creation (15) - 300 words

  • Evidence of improved clinical outcomes
  • Evidence of improved health economic outcomes or enhancement to patient wellbeing
  • Evidence of other improved outcomes

Evidence of improvement in social responsibility, reputation and trust (10) – 300 words

  • Pre- and post-measures or other assessments of corporate reputation
  • Evidence of improved industry reputation

This award recognises excellence in work, conducted by any organisation involved in any market, which shows a commitment to making a difference to communities/ society, building trust in and enhancing the reputation of the pharmaceutical, medical technology and healthcare industries, whilst improving clinical outcomes and/or health economic value, whilst addressing stakeholder needs. These include, but are not restricted to:

  • The use of technology to make the use of a pharmaceutical therapy more clinically or economically effective, or both
  • The use of technology and services that improve the patient/clinical experience
  • Approaches to improving compliance or use of the product that led to better clinical or health economic value, or both
  • Supporting healthcare systems in the delivery of service, extending accessibility and reach
  • The development and delivery of services delivered leading to a better experience for stakeholders/patients/customers.

Entries are invited from any individual, team, service or organisation that has improved reputation, social responsibility and trust within the pharmaceutical industry. Judges will be looking for evidence of impact, sustainability and innovation.

Work conducted in the two-year period from July 2021 to June 2023 will be eligible.
