Excellence in Provision of Patient/Homecare Services

This award recognises the advances made in the provision of services for patients that deliver any of the following: 

  • Provision of effective clinical healthcare at a distance
  • Co-ordination and delivery of patient services
  • Improved access to medical treatment or services
  • Remote monitoring of patients
  • Reduction in unnecessary consultations 
  • Improved compliance and/or adherence
  • Improved empowerment of patients
  • Management of risk and so supporting independence
  • Improved patient experience.

Homecare services should provide comparable health outcomes to traditional in-person patient encounters and supply greater satisfaction to patients.

Potential entrants might include:

  • Brand teams
  • Healthcare agencies or consultancies
  • Homecare agencies
  • Market access teams or agencies
  • Healthcare policy teams or agencies
  • Communications teams.

This category relates to work conducted during the 18-month period between July 2011 and December 2012.

Judging criteria:

  • Rationale for the development of the patient/homecare service
  • Evidence that the service was built upon customer insight
  • Quality of strategy/tactics to deliver against key objectives
  • Evidence of changed perceptions or behaviours
  • Enhanced health outcomes
  • Customer feedback
