Online physician community network expands

Networks in Health adds Canadian healthcare community to its members

The online physician community alliance Networks in Health has added Canada's mdBriefCase to a membership roster that includes the UK's Doctors.net.uk and Germany's Collinquio.

The Canadian community, which focuses on online continuing medical education (CME), will add more than 100,000 new physicians and allied healthcare professionals to Network in Health's existing membership of around 1.6 million physicians worldwide.

Beverly Stainsby, international account director for Networks in Health, said: “We are delighted to welcome mdBriefCase to our network. The company is extremely influential in Canada and has also made its mark in Australia with its online learning provision.

“It will bring exciting new opportunities to pharma companies and other healthcare organisations that wish to research and engage with physicians internationally via a single point of access.”

mdBriefCase has been online since 2001 and since then has grown to be largest multi-disciplinary healthcare community in Canada, with 42,000 physician members.

It has a further 31,000 pharmacists and 15,000 allied healthcare professionals, including nurses and diabetes educators, signed up to use its site.

Meanwhile, mdBriefCase's Australian network consists of more than 26,000 physicians and is the largest private provider of accredited online learning in the country.
