Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR), also referred to as Drug Utilization Evaluations (DUE) is a pharmacoeconomic programme that reviews, analyses and interprets rates, costs and appropriateness of drug usage to assess inappropriate use, prevent adverse drug interactions and optimise appropriate use.
DURs involve a comprehensive review of patients' prescription and medication information before, during, and after dispense to ensure relevent medication decision making and positive patient outcomes.
