Lifestyle drug
A term applied to:
- any drug intended or used for a problem that falls into the grey area between the medical and social definitions of health
- those drugs intended to treat diseases that result from a person's lifestyle choices
Examples of lifestyle drugs are those that treat male pattern baldness, smoking cessation, obesity, social phobias etc. The appearance of lifestyle drugs have caused concern in terms of their impact on drug expenditure
