During a medical peer review a panel of physicians will conclude whether the physician under study has achieved accepted principles of diligence in offering medical services. A Peer Review takes place for various reasons, occasionally at the request of a patient, a medic, or an insurance operator. The term "peer review" is occasionally referred to as a performance appraisal.
