The occurrence of a set outcome in an individual involved in a clinical trial. This can include a participant contracting a disease, a participant showing symptoms of a disease, or an abnormality in the study. The effectiveness of a treatment is usually judged on how many participants in the study reached its endpoint compared to the total amount of people involved.
