3WON adds to board

Kevin Hickey has held senior roles across the healthcare industry

Kevin Hickey has joined the board of healthcare information specialist 3WON as an independent director.

Hickey, a director of WellCare Health Plans, and a trustee of Nantucket Cottage Hospital, is a former president of D2Hawkeye (now Verisk Health) and IntelliClaim, acquired by McKesson Corporation.

A former chairman of the industry collaborative organisation, National Electronic Information Clearinghouse (NEIC), Hickey has held senior roles at Oxford Health Plans (now United HealthCare), Aetna Health Plans and MetLife Healthcare Management Corporation, among others.

"I have known and worked with Kevin for almost 15 years now and have tremendous respect for his intellect and deep domain expertise in the health care arena,” said 3WON chief executive officer Tom Bartlett.

“His experience across the industry is significant and we're confident he will play a pivotal role in helping guide our company's investments in technology, new product development, and growth strategy”.

3WON specialises in delivering connectivity and content to the healthcare industry, promoting more efficient interaction between stakeholders, helping to organise the US' online healthcare information by providing easy access to information on physicians and other health care providers.

"We are awash in data, and finding how important it is to organise and focus this data and ensure it is accessible to the appropriate players in a timely fashion. 3WON is positioning to bring important capabilities to this space, and I am excited to join them as they move forward,” said Hickey.
