Ashfield appoints former Havas Health CEO

Ashfield, part of UDG Healthcare, has appointed Doug Burcin to become the agency’s president.

Burcin brings global healthcare communications agency experience to Ashfield, having spent 18 years working at Havas Health, with eight of those years serving as its global chief executive officer.

His new role will see him take over from Viv Adshead, who announced her plans to retire from the role last September.

Commenting on the appointment, Jez Moulding, COO of UDG Healthcare, said: “Doug’s phenomenal experience in leading the Havas Health agency network globally is extremely valuable to us as we continue to grow our healthcare communications business.

“Doug brings vast healthcare technology, digital, data and analytics experience to Ashfield, which will help as we continue to grow and differentiate our offering.”

Most recently, Burcin held the position of chief growth officer at Klick Health, a digital health agency focused on creating customer solutions.

He said: “Ashfield has a wealth of capabilities, talent and breadth of services on a global scale and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone in the agency network and can’t wait to start driving the business forward to a new level of growth.”
