Atlantis Healthcare Group bring in new UK MD

Atlantis Healthcare Group has named Charles MacKinnon as its next UK managing director.

MacKinnon will take over from Kate Reid, who has accepted a senior management role with the patient support programme firm's New Zealand branch.

“With over twenty years' experience in the UK healthcare sector, Charles's background in clinical pharmacology and vast experience in healthcare communications will add significant value to the patient adherence and behaviour change solutions we deliver to all healthcare system stakeholders in the UK,” said Aunia Grogan, CEO of Atlantis Healthcare.

“Charles is the right person to take on this leading role for the business, with experience in a number of senior management roles for companies such as Complete Medical Communications and Diversified Agency Services (DAS), and is focused on helping us to deliver improved patient outcomes.

“We are excited to have his skillset and experience at the helm of the UK operation, an important part of our global network,” she added.

MacKinnon has held leadership positions with Complete Medical Group, Omnicom Group and Worldview Health and he has specialised in physician and patient engagement, medical communications, PR, market access, DTC, DTP and digital and market research.

“I am delighted to join Atlantis at a time when delivering better outcomes for patients from healthcare interventions is critical.

“This opportunity to lead a highly experienced team dedicated to directly improving peoples' lives, and helping to realise better outcomes for clients was too good to miss,” said MacKinnon.

His predecessor Kate Reid joined Atlantis in 2008 as managing director of the UK offices, following four years with DDB Health Advertising and eight years with Roche Products.

“Over the last four and a half years I have had the opportunity to lead a very talented group of people, creating innovative patient solutions.

“With Charles' depth of experience and the opportunities that the new NHS and healthcare system presents, it is certainly an exciting time for Atlantis.
