London, UK-based Axon Communications has appointed Mary Smiddy as its new PR director in a role that will see her deliver outcomes-based, integrated communications programmes.
Prior to joining Axon, Smiddy was global chief executive officer at PR agency Tonic Life Communications and before that held roles at the likes of Porter Novelli, Weber Shandwick and GlaxoSmithKline, where she served as a regional communications director.
She said: “Axon is an agency I have long admired in terms of its cohesive culture, scientific rigour and award-winning work.
“Once I met the broader team, I knew I wanted to join this highly intelligent and curious group of individuals who share my passion.”
During her career, Smiddy has led local, regional and international programmes to support pharmaceutical products in numerous therapeutic fields including cardiology, immunology, CNS and oncology.
