Boston Pharmaceuticals has appointed Santiago Arroyo as chief medical officer and Constantine Chinoporos as chief business officer to further build and develop its portfolio.
The company is led by ex-Sanofi CEO Chris Viehbacher and one of Boston’s new senior hires comes from the French pharma firm.
Chinoporos was previously vice president of global licensing and business development at Sanofi and has also served as vice president of corporate development at Genzyme and alliance manager or primary care product group at Lilly.
He said: “Boston Pharmaceuticals is intensely focused on efficient clinical development of new medicines and I look forward to helping build an extensive portfolio of new and novel products.
“This is an opportunity to leverage my extensive network of industry partners in identifying great licensing opportunities that can ultimately benefit patients.”
Meanwhile, Arroyo (pictured left) arrives from Pfizer, where he was senior vice president and chief medical officer, having previously also held senior positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Eisai.
He said: “I am excited to be part of Boston Pharmaceuticals and to join the team creating a substantial portfolio of clinical programmes across important disease states to bring new medicine to patients.
“I look forward to partnering with biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies in identifying and further developing potential new medicines.”
