Hearing disorders specialist Decibel Therapeutics has expanded its leadership team and board of directors with four new appointments.
John Keilty (pictured right) becomes chief data sciences officer, moving to the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based firm from Third Rock Ventures where he was general manager of platform operations.
Prior to this, Keilty served as vice president of information technology and informatics at Infinity Pharmaceuticals, and held a number of positions at Millennium Pharmaceuticals working with the company’s core genomic technologies.
Meanwhile, Dr Troyen Brennan, Roger Brown and Dr George Scangos have been appointed to Decibel’s board of directors.
Dr Brennan (pictured left) currently serves as executive vice president and chief medical officer of CVS Health, with responsibility for the firm’s medical affairs and healthcare strategy.
Previously, he was chief medical officer of Aetna Inc, and served as president and chief executive officer of Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization.
Brown (pictured below right) has been president of Berklee College of Music since 2004, and created and leads its global online music education system.
He co-founded Bright Horizons Family Solutions, a worksite childcare and early education provider, and prior to this served as co-director of Save the Children’s Sudan operations.
Finally, Dr Scangos (pictured below left) has recently become chief executive officer of viral and bacterial diseases specialist Vir Biotechnology, having previously served as chief executive officer of Biogen from 2010 until 2016.
Prior to this, he was president and chief executive of Exelixis and served as president of Bayer Biotechnology, overseeing the business development, manufacturing and R&D of the company’s biological products.
