Andrew Martello joins imc group
Healthcare communications agency imc group has boosted its senior management team with the addition of Andrew Martello (pictured above, left), who joins as the new managing director of its UK division.
Martello, who was director of medical communications agency AXON Communications, will be responsible for the direction, management and growth of IMC’s UK office.
More specifically, Martello will lead the group’s vision of improving patient health and will focus on behavioural change and digital medical communication.
Shairose Ebrahim, group president and CEO, IMC, said: “[Andrew’s] strategic behavioural science know-how coupled with his expertise in health- and medicines-related behaviour will provide our clients with a deeper understanding of patient and healthcare professional interactions, and will ensure that our medical communication solutions provide robust behavioural-change outcomes.
“His proven entrepreneurial background will drive innovative growth strategies and ensure that imc UK continues to expand its client base as well as attract and retain talent”.
Martello brings over a decade of pharmaceutical industry experience, having worked with companies such as Novartis, AbbVie and GSK.
He said: “I look forward to leading such a talented and diverse group of individuals to further position imc as thought leaders within our industry.
“Only through a deeper understanding of the factors that drive health behaviours can we improve patient outcomes, support informed decision making and partner with our clients to optimise medical innovations”.
Martello will work alongside recently-appointed Paul Thomas, who joins the group as its client service director.
Thomas has previously held senior positions at Novo Nordisk including head of sales North, UK.
Most recently, Thomas served Hayward Medical Communications as its business director, Europe, where he established relationships with a network of global pharmaceutical clients.
Imc also plans to add to its team in the next few months, along with launching new divisions of the business.
