Hill+Knowlton Strategies appoints new US head of healthcare

Susan Thiele is also senior vice president of the US PR agency

Susan Thiele has been named as the new head of healthcare for the US arm of the PR agency Hill+knowlton Strategies (H+K).

Thiele has been with the group for over two years, during which time she has been involved in developing strategic communications platforms, such as brand positioning, audience activation, stakeholder engagement and crisis and issue management. Her healthcare clients have included Amgen, Merck and Ostuka Pharmaceuticals.

Prior to joining H+K, Thiele has held senior positions at Edelman, Ketchum, Chamberlain Communications and Ruder Finn, where she oversaw product and corporate public relations initiatives for companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices industries.

“Susan has demonstrated great leadership in her role as the head of our New York healthcare practice, and I’m confident she will take us in the direction we want to go as we build out our healthcare practice across the US,” said Dan Bartlett, president and CEO of Hill+Knowlton Strategies US.

“Her familiarity with the industry and extensive experience with clients in the healthcare and pharmaceutical space, combined with her commitment to top flight client service, will be of great value inthis role.”

Over the years, Thiele has worked across a range of medical and therapeutic areas, including neuroscience, rheumatology, pain management, gastroenterology, oncology, women’s health, ophthalmology, infectious diseases and medical devices/diagnostics.
