INC Research has appointed former Pfizer senior director Dr Beatrice Setnik as VP, clinical pharmacology.

Setnik had been with pharma giant Pfizer since 2008 serving as senior director, medical development for the company's neuroscience business.

Prior to this she spent several years at Kendle in senior research positions.

In her new role at the contract research organisation (CRO) INC Research she will support the company's early phase business unit, providing scientific direction on matters related to abuse liability for investigational products.

Dr Pierre Geoffroy, VP, early phase at INC Research commented on Dr Setnik's suitability for the role.

"Dr Setnik's extensive knowledge and experience in the area of human abuse liability assessment and risk evaluation, as well as in CNS drug development, clinical trial design and strategic lifecycle management, will be instrumental in furthering the development of our abuse potential capabilities and new scientific growth strategies for early phase clinical research,” said Dr Geoffroy.
