Thomas Zimmer has left his senior VP role at Boehringer Ingelheim to join the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) as VP of European operations.
In his new role, Zimmer will be responsible for leading ISPE's business development and advancing strategic relationships in Europe.
He spent 32 years at German pharma company Boehringer, serving in senior roles across development, production, quality and supply chain management
In addition, Zimmer has experience at the European Federations of Pharmaceutical Industry Associations (EFPIA) and as a member of the World Health Organization's (WHO) IMPACT taskforce.
"Thomas joins ISPE with a strong foundation of pharmaceutical industry knowledge and relationships both within the Society and in the European professional community at large," said ISPE President and CEO Nancy Berg.
"Thomas's first-hand knowledge of the European regulatory environment and industry processes will be an important asset to ISPE as it continues to build best-in-class knowledge transfer offerings that are tailored to the needs of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries both in Europe and around the world."
