Maxor appoints new chief executive officer

Mike Ellis succeeds John Ward

Maxor National Pharmacy Services has appointed Mike Ellis as its new chief executive officer, replacing John Ward who retired earlier this month.

Ellis joins the Texas-based pharmacy services platform from Walgreens – a US drugstore chain – where he had served as corporate vice president since 2011.

He has also recently served as president of the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) and continues to serve on its board of directors.

Jerry Hodge, founder of Maxor, said: “Mike Ellis is the perfect individual to take over as CEO of Maxor. I have known Mike for twenty-eight years and believe his background in pharmacy will be ideal for Maxor and its customers.”

Ellis said: “Maxor is fortunate to have smart, energetic employees and strong, loyal customers. I expect this new chapter of the company’s 50‐year history will be a continuation of exceptional customer service and growth for which Maxor is known.”

Hodge added: “I would like to thank John for his 40 years of friendship and I am deeply grateful for John’s leadership over the last twelve years.

“He established a strong culture at the Company and contributed meaningfully to Maxor’s significant growth during this period.”
