MDxHealth creates new global commercial team

Bret Swansiger, Maurizio Ballerini, Harry Rentrop and George Skinner join the firm

MDxHealth Bret SwansigerMDxHealth has created a new global commercial team to drive the launch of SelectMDx, its new prostate cancer test.

Brett Swansiger (pictured) will lead a team comprising of Dr Maurizio Ballerini, Harry Rentrop and George Skinner to oversee the global commercialisation strategy of MDxHealth’s new product.

Dr Jan Groen, chief executive officer of MDxHealth, said: “We are truly excited about assembling such a strong global commercial team for SelectMDx, with unparalleled commercial experience and demonstrated success in the commercialisation of a molecular diagnostic test for prostate cancer across Europe.”

Swansiger becomes senior vice president of business development at the biotechnology company and brings over 15 years of experience in oncology and autoimmune genomic and genetic testing.

He joins MDxHealth from Agendia where he served as vice president of managed care and Asia market access, and has previously held managerial positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Prometheus Laboratories.

Based in Germany, George Skinner has been appointed senior director, European commercial operations, moving from BDS International where he has been director of global sales and marketing since 2011.

Skinner has over 30 years of international experience in senior sales and marketing positions with in-vitro diagnostic firms including Boehringer Mannheim (now Roche Diagnostics), Human Diagnostica, Bard Diagnostic Science, and Gen-Probe (now Hologic).

MDxHealth has also appointed team members Harry Rentrop and Dr Maurizio Ballerini as national sales directors for Benelux and Italy, respectively.

Rentrop joins from Noviogendix, where he was responsible for the commercialisation of its PCA3 service testing business in The Netherlands. He brings over 30 years of pharmaceutical sales expertise to the roles, having held senior positions at Astellas Pharma, Lederle, Roussel Laboratoria and Yamanouchi.

Meanwhile, Dr Ballerini has over 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the molecular diagnostics industry, including at Abbott Laboratories and Randox Labs. He most recently served as country manager for Gen-Probe in Italy.
