Metrion Biosciences expands operations team

Dr Andrew Southan appointed head of commercial operations

Metrion Biosciences Dr Andrew SouthanCambridge, UK-based Metrion Biosciences has appointed Dr Andrew Southan as head of commercial operations.

Dr Southan joins the specialist contract research organisation from Charles River Laboratories where he served as director of ion channel biology.

He previously served as group lead for BioFocus' ion channel team, head of electrophysiology for Ionix Pharmaceuticals, and also brings experience from CeNeS Pharmaceuticals and Wyeth Research UK.

Dr Marc Rogers, chief scientific officer at Metrion Biosciences, said: “Since becoming an independent CRO in 2015 Metrion has grown rapidly.

“We are delighted to welcome Andrew as head of commercial operations as we move into larger and better equipped laboratories.

“His excellent project management skills, business development credentials and scientific expertise are ideally suited for the new role and we look forward to working with him on our team.”
